Rockstar Developers Form New Company
Key members of Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar Games have signed long-term agreements with Take-Two Interactive Software that will extend their relationship with the publisher through the end of 2012. The deal will ensure that Sam Houser, Dan Houser, Leslie Benzies and other creative talent at Rockstar will stay with Take-Two and continue to build on the success of GTA, Midnight Club and other multi-million-dollar Rockstar franchises.
The publisher has also agreed to fund the creation of a new company within Take-Two, run by top Rockstar people, that will focus on the creation of new intellectual property. Take-Two will then retain exclusive publishing rights to those games.
